I started running after I got married because I was bored and a friend challenged me to train for a half marathon. Before I knew it, I was hooked. Running helped me maintain my stress and anxiety and was my way of “self-care”. In the spring of 2019 I went through a traumatic event while having to terminate my pregnancy due to medical reason at 21 weeks. I was diagnosed with postpartum depression and anxiety as well as PTSD. Running helped me dig myself out of a dark spot by training for the NYC Marathon for March of Dimes. I strive to beat my current run streak of 473 days this year and break 1500 miles ran for the year.
