Hi! My name is Carolyn and thanks for stopping by my profile. I’m extremely excited to be a Nuun Ambassador this year, and I can’t wait to share how I live the #nuunlife and spread the #nuunlove.
Let me start off by saying that I wasn’t an athlete growing up. My fitness journey didn’t start until 2014, when I took my very first krav maga class. I can say with complete confidence that krav was the springboard for this active lifestyle I now lead and love. Following krav classes came obstacle course races (OCRs), half marathons… and this desire to push my body and mind to newfound limits. Training became my therapy. It was a time where I could escape the everyday stresses of life and focus on hitting the bag, cranking out as many burpees as possible, or putting on my favorite playlist and going out to pound the pavement.
I’m often asked what motivates me, and to be quite honest, it’s knowing that the best is truly yet to come. My journey is far from perfect, far from over, and that’s the beauty of it. Training can be disappointing, frustrating and ugly one moment… then euphoric, inspiring and badass the next. I love that my journey is always evolving and that I’m constantly learning. I can always train better, eat smarter, hydrate more (Nuun <3), run faster and push harder. There are good days; there are bad days. There are moments when my body says no, but my mind says yes (those are the hardest).
But my self-motivation can only go so far, and I’m glad that I’m equipped with products like Nuun to keep me going because I have no intention of stopping any time soon! I’ve been using Nuun for about three years now and it is one of my favorite health/fitness brands and the only electrolyte supplement I use throughout my training. I use it before, during, and after workouts and races and I now also take the vitamins and immunity tablets consistently to stay healthy during rest days.
So what’s next for me in 2019? The possibilities are endless, but I’m really hoping to conquer the rope climb and multi-rig during my Spartan Race season. I’m also running my 4th half marathon and testing for my brown belt in krav maga - so I definitely need to make sure I stay healthy, and most importantly, HYDRATED. :)
